& Tradition

The Designhotel

Give in to the enchantment of the mountains, where the world is at peace.

Manggei Obertauern

When you visit the mountains, follow the example of the 'manggei', the affectionate local name in Obertauern for the groundhog. What could be more pleasant than holing up after a long, active day of sporting activity at the highest of heights in an architecturally first-class building, where you can just relax in a modern environment?

The Manggei is the design hotel with tradition in Obertauern. The linear style of the alpine architecture, which is combined with design classics and modern art, creates a unique atmosphere that makes it difficult to say goodbye. On the contrary; once you see the breath-taking panorama of the mountain landscape in Obertauern, you're certain to succumb to the charm of our home.

Surrounded by wood and stone, which corresponds with the hotel's  interior concept of natural materials, you're free to just be yourself at every moment, enjoy the urban comfort, feel at home as a person, and, above all, sleep like a groundhog.

The first ski lift starts directly at the hotel.

Just walk out of the hotel and enjoy the skiing,

Our Rooms

Room for personal development.

Purist furnishings

Every room and every suite at the Manggei is attractive thanks to the linear design, which combines together with alpine decorative elements to create an inviting and comfortable overall concept, without any alpine kitsch or senseless decorations. This gives you a special space to allow your individuality free reign. At the Manggei, you may select between four different room categories. The plus symbol + indicates more space or a better view.

Breakfast Buffet

Every day is a good day at the Manggei.

until 11 a.m. daily

The day begins relaxed with a special breakfast buffet that leaves almost nothing to be desired. One of our team members who contributes to this is Sieglinde, our breakfast cook, who conjures delicious, home-made, local specialities for our guests every morning and makes the start to the day something special with her passion for cooking.

Simply enjoy whatever your heart desires: Breakfast classics, aromatic buns, fresh items from the farm and the region, and juice made with high-quality organic ingredients. And above all, leave yourself time for enjoyment and follow the example of the groundhog, since the buffet is open until 11 a.m. for the late risers among our guests.

The Bar

A boredom-free bar.

Enjoy at the Manggei

The lounge and bar area at the Manggei is the ideal place to share fascinating ideas and experiences in a stylish environment or to celebrate after a wonderful day of skiing. A hand-picked drinks menu features select specialities to round off the offer and strengthen body and soul after a welcome but long day on the ski pistes, before you prepare to dive into Obertauern's exciting night life. We're also happy to reserve a table at the Hotel Perner according to availability or in one of the other numerous restaurants in Obertauern.

Underground Garage, Beauty Spa, and Hotel Perner

Keep your feet dry while getting around.

at the Manggei

This is another aspect of the groundhog and his den that we have emulated. The Manggei was designed so that every room and suite possesses its own parking space in the underground garage, and you are comfortably able to reach the swimming pool, the Elysium beauty spa, and Hotel Perner to enjoy dinner as you desire, even during the most severe winter weather and snow storms.
